FIFA 23: The End of an Era from EA

FIFA 23 is the latest installment of the world’s most popular sports video game franchise. Developed by EA Vancouver and published by EA Sports, FIFA 23 brings with it a plethora of new features, game modes, and improvements which are sure to please both veteran FIFA fans and newcomers alike.

Visuals

FIFA 23 boasts unique visuals, with a new lighting system bringing a more realistic feel to the game. The familiar FIFA presentation has been slightly updated, with a fresh new menu system and improved crowd visuals. The pitch and playing surfaces have also seen a major upgrade, with grass textures looking more realistic than ever before.

VOLTA Mode

The biggest addition for FIFA 23 is the updated VOLTA Football feature. This mode allows players to take control of a custom player and compete in a variety of street and futsal matches. Players can choose from a variety of different stadiums, including those based on real-life locations, and can customize the look of their player with a variety of different clothing and accessories. The VOLTA mode also features a story-based campaign which follows the player’s career as they work to become the world’s best street footballer.

FIFA Ultimate Team Mode

FIFA 23 also features a revamped FIFA Ultimate Team mode. This mode allows players to create their own custom team and compete against other players in online tournaments. The FUT Chemistry system has also been overhauled, allowing players to create more diverse and balanced squads. The odds of unearthing Mbappe, Son, or Benzema are still deliberately obfuscated, but the new system does offer more flexibility than before.

Career Mode

The Career Mode has also seen a few changes, with players now able to take on the role of a real-life manager and manage their team through various leagues and tournaments. The in-game press conferences have also been improved, with a more realistic feel to the questions and answers. Players can also create their own custom tournaments, allowing them to create their own unique competition with individual rules and even custom logos.

Set-piece System

FIFA 23 also features a new set-piece system, which allows for more control and variety when taking free-kicks and corners. The new system allows players to move a cursor over the ball to determine where they want to strike it, allowing for greater precision and variety when trying to score from dead-ball situations.

HyperMotion 2

On the pitch, the game has seen several improvements. The HyperMotion 2 technology has been implemented, allowing for more realistic and fluid player movements. The ball control has also been improved, making playing through the midfield and creating chances easier than ever before.
