AVATAR TRILOGY’S LOGO AND TRADEMARK REGISTERED BY 20TH CENTURY FOX

James Cameron’s Avatar new trilogy is scheduled for 2017, according to some rumors around the web. On November 12 2015, Twentieth Century Fox requested a new trademark and logo registration for what could seem to be the new Avatar Trilogy’s logo. The trademark was finally confirmed by the Office for Harmonization in the Internal Market (OHIM) today, for two clasess: 9 (software, photographic, cinematographic goods, etc.) and 41 (entertainment, television, film production, etc.). The other classes requested (3, 14, 16, 18, 20, 21, 24, 25, 28, 29, 30, 32, 42) haven’t been confirmed yet by the European office, due to some third parties oppositions. In fact, the trademark requested isn’t “Avatar” or “Jame Cameron’s Avatar”, but a simple “A” and this could complicate the registration process for common goods.

Are we sure this “A” is for the new Avatar’s sequels? We believe yes, because if you look at the previous logo filled by 20th Century Fox for “James Cameron’s Avatar” you can see the similarities with the new one. So this could be the new Avatar logo at 90%. But how about the name? Is it Avatar Trilogy, Avatar Series o simply A? We aren’t able to answer this question…
